CVMA Winter Series 2022-2023. starts September 24 and 25
Central Desert, California – Next weekend, September 24-25, will mark the 2022-2023 Chuckwalla Valley Motorcycle Association (CVMA) 7-round winter season opener. This will be the first competitive event at the newly rebuilt Chuckwalla Valley Raceway! The CVMA is looking forward to another super competitive season with some of the fastest racers from across the country coming to enjoy the incredibly smooth surface and warm, sunny weather all winter long.
The track has hosted several motorcycle events on the new surface and the feedback is: it’s fantastic!

As previously announced, the CVMA has an expanded scholarship program totaling over $165,000 for Sunday’s four Shootout races and Saturday’s Femmewalla races. The CVMA also added a light twin shootout. Sunday’s four Shootout races go back to fifth place.
The CVMA Sunday Shootout purse payouts based on finishing position are as follows:
Stock 1000 Shootout (10 spins) – 1st place: $3,000 | 2nd: $2,000 | 3rd: $1,500 | 4th: $1,000 | 5th: $750
Middleweight Supersport (10 Laps) – 1st Place: $2,000 | 2nd: $1,500 | 3rd: $1,000 | 4th: $750 | 5th: $500
Lightweight Twin Formulas (8 laps) – 1st place: $1,500 | 2nd: $1,000 | 3rd: $750 | 4th: $500 | 5th: $250
Ultralight Formula Shootout (8 rounds) – 1st place: $1,500 | 2nd: $1,000 | 3rd: $750 | 4th: $500 | 5th: $250
Femmewalla Open (6 rounds) – 1st place: $300 | 2nd: $200 | Third: $100
Femmewalla Ultra Light (6 rounds) – 1st: $200 | 2nd: $125 | 3rd: $75
Runners can participate in multiple shootouts each Sunday, but can only pick up one purse to ensure 20 runners get the check each round. In addition, motorcyclists may be eligible for emergency programs from motorcycle manufacturers, tire suppliers and CVMA partner companies. Racers must purchase a CVMA Racing license, qualify and participate in at least one race on Saturday to be eligible for a purse at the Sunday Shootouts. In addition to the new track surface, Chuckwalla also installed new bleachers on both sides of the spectator area, added a much larger podium and significantly upgraded the sound system. Additionally, 14 additional RV parking spaces with 50 amp power supplies have been added to the paddock to keep rigs cool and tires warm. The total number of electric RV spaces that can be reserved before each CVMA event is now 22.

The CVMA offers two full days of racing each race weekend and includes Saturday qualifying for grid position in all classes, amateur and expert, as well as a wide variety of classes to choose from.
