VW wants to enable electric entry for less than 25,000 euros

VW is currently asking 30,000 euros for its entry-level electric model e-Up. The successor ID 2, which was launched yesterday evening as the “ID. 2all” was presented, should come onto the market in 2025 and cost less than 25,000 euros if possible. But then features such as Travel Assist, IQ light and e-route planner should be added for a surcharge. Volkswagen is aiming for a range of up to 450 kilometers.

The basis for the ID 2, which is visually reminiscent of the Polo, is the new “MEB Entry” platform. The new model will be 4.05 meters long and will offer a trunk volume of almost 500 liters. By 2026, VW plans to launch ten new electric models. It remains to be seen whether the 166 kW (226 hp) performance of the study will remain. That sounds a little too much for a Volks-Stromer. (awm)
