Two days around Berlin in a vintage car

The 18th edition of the “Rund um Berlin-Classic” run by the Automobile Club of Germany covers around 400 kilometers over two days. The vintage car rally starts on Friday, May 12, in Eberswalde, south of the Werbellinsee. The tour then leads in two large loops through the Biosphere Reserve Schorfheide-Chorin, the Lower Oder Valley National Park and the southern edge of the Uckermark. A series of regularity tests await the participants along the way.

Shortly after the start, the rally entourage passes the Niederfinow ship lift, the first attraction. We continue to Wriezen. There, the plant and flower market was specially scheduled for the Friday of the rally. In the middle of this market, the teams will pass through a drive-through control. The next stop is the Europa Bridge in Neurüdnitz-Siekierki, where a special stage takes place. The route leads through the Lower Oder Valley National Park past the Parsteinsee to Chorin Monastery, before driving through the Buckowseerinne nature reserve and reaching the Werbellinsee. The first day of the 18th AvD Rund um Berlin-Classic ends with the journey through the stage destination at Hubertusstock hunting lodge.

The next day the vintage cars lead past the historic Kaiserbahnhof Joachimsthal through the Biosphere Reserve Schorfheide-Chorin to Angermünde and the Stolper Tower. Through the national park city of Schwedt, the route of the classic rally will make a detour to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and reach its northernmost milestone with the classic car museum in Krackow. Through the Melzow Forest it goes to the Gramzow Railway Museum. Past the Oberuckersee and via Joachimsthal, the teams finally reach the Werbellinsee again in the late afternoon and the goal at the Hubertusstock hunting lodge.

Depending on the age of the vehicle, the AvD Rallye Rund um Berlin-Classic is based on an average speed of between 25 and 35 km/h. In between there will be regularity ratings. Motorworld Manufaktur Berlin has also announced the Motorworld Historic Cup for the first time, for which points can also be collected on this trip.

Young and oldtimers built up to 2002 can be entered for the AvD Rund um Berlin-Classic, held by the Mecklenburg Automobile Club in the AvD (MAC). The participation of motorcycles and teams is possible and also desired. Entries will be accepted up to and including March 20th, the entry fee is 699 euros per vehicle. In addition to the road books, the boarding passes and the rally signs, this also includes lunch and dinner during the two days of the rally. (awm)
