The next BMW 5 Series is live
BMW will launch the next generation of the 5 Series in the fall. At today’s annual company press conference, CEO Oliver Zipse announced that the sedan will be available with both a fully electric drive and as a plug-in hybrid. There are also petrol and diesel engines with 48-volt mild hybrid technology. The market launch is scheduled for October, and the battery-electric model i5 Touring will also be available from spring next year. The BMW 5 Series is produced at the Dingolfing plant. The batteries and electric motors are also manufactured there. (awm)
