New Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV coming next year
Mitsubishi has announced the next generation of the Outlander plug-in hybrid for next year. The new D-segment SUV is already available in the US and features all-wheel drive. The Outlander is one of the most important series for the Japanese brand. In Europe, the model has sold over half a million vehicles over the past 20 years, and the PHEV version has sold more than 200,000 units since 2013.
How much Outlander and the new Espace from alliance partner Renault are similar will soon become apparent when the French officially present the van that has been mutated into an SUV. Misubishi will also celebrate the return of the compact Colt, based on the Renault Clio, later this year. (awm)
