Just a few weeks ago, Polestar made the announcement that it would be releasing the 2023 model of its electric sedan. At the time, we were unaware that the Swedish manufacturer had prepared a significant surprise for the new model year of the vehicle. The new Polestar 2 BST Edition 270 is the most extreme road-legal version of the electric vehicle (EV), and it is a part of the Polestar Engineered family of products. It comes with significant performance modifications and a price that matches the level of those upgrades.
Polestar 2 BST Edition 270 Revealed, Featuring 476 Horsepower and Other Performance Enhancements
Beginning with the dual-motor electric powertrain, it has been redesigned to generate a peak output of 476 horsepower (350 kilowatts) and 502 pound-feet (680 Newton-meters) of torque. In addition to “the sportier dynamics,” Polestar promises a “heightened responsiveness,” which is likely to be of even greater significance. The same battery pack that is found in the standard versions, which has a capacity of 78 kWh, is used in the electric vehicle to provide the powertrain with electric energy.
But power is not everything, and under the hood, Polestar also instals specially engineered two-way adjustable Ohlins dampers with auxiliary adjustment chambers. A new front strut bar and springs that are 20 percent more rigid are also included in the suspension improvement, which results in a ride height that is 25 millimetres lower. The limited-edition electric sedan sits on alloy wheels measuring 21 inches and is equipped with Pirelli P Zero tyres measuring 245/35 sections. These tyres were developed specifically for the vehicle. The braking system has not been altered in any way, and it still uses the four-piston Brembo brakes that it had before.
Thunder and Snow are the two choices for the vehicle’s exterior, and the interior features a contrasting charcoal WeaveTech fabric. The normal Polestar 2 models may be differentiated from the Polestar 2 BST Edition 270 by its body-colored bumpers and side skirts. Additionally, a matte black body stripe can be added for an additional $1,000 as an option to further enhance the vehicle’s sportier appearance. The seatbelts, brake callipers, and damper parts all have a Swedish Gold finish, and the valve covers are also Swedish Gold.
Only 270 examples of the special edition Polestar 2 will be produced by Polestar for distribution across the world’s markets. Before the end of the year, up to 47 of those will be delivered to clients in the United States, with manufacturing scheduled to begin in the middle of 2022. The initial purchase price in the United States begins at $75,500 before taxes, shipping, and handling fees; adding a full optional wrap will add an additional $5,000 to this total.
